With “Altered States of Perception”, I’m entering a new phase of my electronic music production, moving further into a more direct, physical and dancefloor-oriented techno sound.
The track is built at 140 BPM and focuses on progression, tension and impact. I wanted to create something minimal but powerful, with a strong riser, a spoken-word narrative and a drop designed to hit with real intensity.
At the center of the track there is a voice inspired by the cultural perception of rave communities.
The spoken-word section describes techno ravers as people often seen as disconnected from mainstream society, while actually creating temporary communities built around freedom, intensity and a shared sense of belonging.
The phrase “Altered States of Perception” gradually becomes the core mantra of the track. I processed it through different vocal effects, letting one version echo and respond to the other, until it becomes part of the groove itself.
Musically, this release reflects my current interest in peak-time techno: techno built for the most intense moments of a club or festival set. The track combines a solid rhythmic foundation, low-end pressure, a strong build-up and a drop-focused structure, while keeping the arrangement direct and essential.
This release also marks an important step in my ongoing artistic evolution.
After exploring dub techno, ambient and more experimental electronic territories, my recent production work has shifted toward faster, more powerful techno, with a stronger focus on energy, physical impact and live-set functionality.
“Altered States of Perception” is not only a new track for me. It is a statement of direction: a sound built for dark rooms, late-night systems and collective movement.
The track is available on Bandcamp, Soundcloud and all the major streaming paltforms.
